    According to the centers for disease control and prevention, or the CDC for short, hand sanitizers should contain at least 60% alcohol to be effective. Over the past few weeks, local stores have witnessed a record hand sanitizer sales, with a whopping surge of almost 73%, compared to last year’s numbers, confirmed the New York Times.

    As a result, prices of hand sanitizers have also skyrocketed. For example, a seller on Amazon offers a 24-pack of Purell bottles for $400, Newsweek asserted.
